Policy Research Institute (PRI), IMF (Fiscal Affairs Department), and Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) held The Sixth Tokyo Fiscal Forum “Towards Strong Economic Recovery and Sound Public Finances in Asia” on December 4, 2020.
Government officials and experts in fiscal policy from 20 countries in Asia and beyond had intensively discussed two following points: how to design fiscal strategies for economic recovery when the global economy has faced unprecedented shocks and crises, and how to manage fiscal risks while governments have deployed fiscal policy responses to counter the COVID 19-induced recession. The discussion was conducted in terms of policy aspects in light of the support from IMF, and challenges and case studies of each Asian countries.
