Statement by Finance Minister SUZUKI Shunichi


  1. I strongly welcome that the Inclusive Framework on BEPS comprised of 140 jurisdictions reached a historic agreement today on the new rules of international taxation.

  2. Since the inception of the BEPS project in 2013, Japanese Government has consistently been playing a leading role in the project. I, therefore, highly commend that the global community concluded this once-in-a-century reform of international tax regime.

  3. There still remains works to be done, including the development and ratification of a multilateral convention (MLC) as well as introducing domestic tax legislations. Japan will continue to closely collaborate with other jurisdictions to achieve these objectives.
