Issuance of the Interest-Bearing Government Bonds (FY2026)

Issuance and reopening schedule of the Interest-Bearing Government Bonds will be as follows. 


1) 5-year Bonds (4 issues in FY2026 unless the gap between the coupon rate of the issue with the same maturity and the market interest rate on the auction day is more than 0.10%)    

 <In case of 4 issues in FY2026>

  • April, May and June 2026 issues will be the issue No.184. (Maturity March 20, 2031)
  • July, August and September 2026 issues will be the issue No.185. (Maturity June 20, 2031)
  • October, November and December 2026 issues will be the issue No.186. (Maturity September 20, 2031)
  • January, February and March 2027 issues will be the issue No.187. (Maturity December 20, 2031)

  • Auction method is the price-competitive conventional auction at intervals of 0.01 yen.

2) 10-year Bonds (4 issues in FY2026 unless the gap between the coupon rate of the issue with the same maturity and the market interest rate on the auction day is more than 0.30%)

  • April, May and June 2026 issues will be the issue No.382. (Maturity March 20, 2036)
  • July, August and September 2026 issues will be the issue No.383. (Maturity June 20, 2036)
  • October, November and December 2026 issues will be the issue No.384. (Maturity September 20, 2036)
  • January, February and March 2027 issues will be the issue No.385. (Maturity December 20, 2036)

  • Auction method is the price-competitive conventional auction at intervals of 0.01 yen.

3) 20-year Bonds (4 issues in FY2026) 

  • April, May and June 2026 issues will be the issue No.196. (Maturity March 20, 2046)
  • July, August and September 2026 issues will be the issue No.197. (Maturity June 20, 2046)
  • October, November and December 2026 issues will be the issue No.198. (Maturity September 20, 2046)
  • January, February and March 2027 issues will be the issue No.199. (Maturity December 20, 2046)

  • Auction method is the price-competitive conventional auction at intervals of 0.05 yen.

 

4) 30-year Bonds (4 issues in FY2026)

  • April, May and June 2026 issues will be the issue No.90. (Maturity March 20, 2056)
  • July, August and September 2026 issues will be the issue No.91. (Maturity June 20, 2056)
  • October, November and December 2026 issues will be the issue No.92. (Maturity September 20, 2056)
  • January, February and March 2027 issues will be the issue No.93. (Maturity December 20, 2056)

  • Auction method is the price-competitive conventional auction at intervals of 0.05 yen.

 

5) 40-year Bonds (1 issue in FY2026)

  • May, July, September, November 2026, January and March 2027 issues will be the issue No.19. (Maturity March 20, 2066)

  • Auction method is Dutch-style-yield-competitive auction at intervals of 0.5bp.

 

6) Inflation-Indexed Bonds (1 issue in FY2026)

  • May, August, November 2026 and February 2027 issues will be the issue No. 31.(Maturity:March 10, 2036, Reference CPI:December 2025)

  • Auction method is Dutch-style-price-competitive auction at intervals of 0.05 yen.

 

7) Japan Climate Transition Bonds (No reopening rule)

 <5-year>
  • May 2026 issue will be the issue No.5. (Maturity March 20, 2031)
  • November 2026 issue will be the issue No.6. (Maturity September 20, 2031)
 <10-year>
  • August 2026 issue will be the issue No.5. (Maturity June 20, 2036)
  • February 2027 issue will be the issue No.6. (Maturity December 20, 2036)

  • Auction method is Dutch-style-yield-competitive auction at intervals of 0.1bp.

 
  (Reference1) 2-year Bonds : No reopening rule. Auction method is the price-competitive conventional auction at intervals of 0.005 yen.
  (Reference2) 5-, 10-, 20- and 30-year Bonds:New issues will be issued in April, July, October and January.
