Japan-Korea-U.S. Trilateral Finance Ministers’ Meeting (April 17, 2024)

On April 17, 2024, during a visit to Washington D.C., U.S, Japan’s Minister of Finance SUZUKI Shunichi attended the first Japan-Republic of Korea-United States Trilateral Finance Ministers’ Meeting held at the U.S. Treasury Department. Minister Suzuki closely exchanged views with Secretary of the U.S. Treasury Janet Yellen and Korea’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance CHOI Sang Mok on the current global situation and cooperation among the three countries on their common concerns. The Ministers agreed to continue to cooperate in various areas. The “Japan-Republic of Korea-United States Trilateral Ministerial Joint Press Statement(PDF:13KB) ” was issued after the meeting.

Ahead of this Trilateral Finance Ministers’ Meeting, Minister Suzuki held bilateral meetings with Secretary Yellen and Deputy Prime Minister Choi and they affirmed to further strengthen their bilateral ties.
