Japan-U.S. Finance Ministerial Meeting (April 15, 2026)
On April 15, commencing at 11:40 a.m. [EST] for approximately 20 minutes, Minister Katayama held a bilateral meeting in Washington, D.C. with the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury, Scott Bessent. They exchanged views on a range of global economic issues, including developments in crude oil markets and financial markets such as foreign exchange markets, following the situation in the Middle East. They reaffirmed to further strengthen Japan-U.S. cooperation to address various bilateral and multilateral issues.
