Japan-U.S. Finance Ministerial Meeting (January 12, 2026)
On January 12, Minister Katayama held a bilateral meeting in Washington, D.C. with the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury, Scott Bessent. They exchanged views on a range of global economic issues and developments in the financial markets, including recent foreign exchange movements. They also reaffirmed to further strengthen Japan-U.S. cooperation to address various bilateral and multilateral issues.
