Japan-U.S. Finance Ministerial Meeting (October 15, 2025)
On October 15, Minister of Finance, and Minister of State for Financial Services, Japan, Kato Katsunobu held a bilateral meeting with the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury, Scott Bessent in Washington, D.C.
1. The Secretary and the Minister held their bilateral meeting and exchanged views on a range of global economic issues.
2. They reaffirmed their shared understanding expressed in the U.S. - Japan Finance Ministers’ Joint Statement in September 2025. As in their previous meetings, they did not discuss foreign exchange levels.
3. They reaffirmed to further strengthen Japan-US cooperation to address various bilateral and multilateral issues.
