On September 27, 2023, in Astana, Kazakhstan, Masato Kanda, Vice Minister for International Affairs had a meeting with Mr. Zhamaubaev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan, chair country for "Central Asia plus Japan" Dialogue, which will mark the 20th anniversary of its establishment next year, is an important partner for Japan. In the meeting, both sides had a candid exchange of views on bilateral cooperation for small and middle-sized enterprises in Kazakhstan, technical assistance for Kazakhstan's capital markets through an international organization and situation surrounding Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
