Meeting between Vice Minister Kanda and Mr. Brian Nelson, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence on Friday, July 1, 2022
At noon on Friday, July 1, Vice Minister Kanda met with Mr. Brian Nelson, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence.
They confirmed that the U.S. and Japan will continue to cooperate in imposing severe economic sanctions against Russia in order to end Russia's aggression against Ukraine, which has shaken the foundations of the international order, as soon as possible and discussed further measures to achieve this.
They also exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including North Korea and cooperation on FATF (Financial Action Task Force) initiatives, including crypto assets.
The meeting concluded by both Vice Minister Kanda and Under Secretary Nelson confirming that both countries will continue to work closely together on various issues.
