Countervailing duties are additional customs duties imposed on imported goods for the protection of domestic industries, benefiting from subsidies granted by the exporting country, in an amount not exceeding the amount of the subsidy.
It is provided for in Article 7 of the Customs Tariff Act, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the WTO Agreements.
