Received an Order from Bangladesh Bank for the Production of Commemorative Silver Coins

The Ministry of Finance, Japan, and the Independent Administrative Agency Japan Mint (hereinafter referred to as the “Japan Mint”), with the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, are working toward receiving orders for the production of foreign coins.
Recently, the Japan Mint received an order from the Bangladesh Bank to produce silver coins to commemorate this year’s 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Bangladesh. (See the attachment for the outline of the coin.) The Bangladesh Bank will issue these silver coins as commemorative coins*.

* The Bangladesh Bank will issue the commemorative silver coins under the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. These commemorative coins will be issued for collection only and may not be used for domestic payments in Bangladesh.

In Japan, the commemorative silver coins will be sold by the Japan Mint. The Japan Mint will announce the detailed sale information around the end of March this year.
