The Ministry of Finance has decided recently that new forms would be set for the Bank of Japan Notes of 10,000 yen, 5,000 yen and 1,000 yen, for which issuance starts on November 1, 2004. We will post a notice regarding the issuance on August 13, 2004, based on Article 47, Item 2 of the Bank of Japan Law.Further, the 10,000 yen, 5,000 yen and 1,000 yen notes that are currently in circulation will continue to be valid even after the issuance of new Bank of Japan Notes.
