The Amount of Issuance for 100-yen Clad Coins of The Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 Commemorative Coin Program (First Issue) Decided
The Ministry of Finance has decided the amount of issuance of 100-yen clad coins (two types) of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 Commemorative Coin Program (first issue), in consideration of requests from financial institutions, as follows:.

(Note 1) Clad coins refer to the coins with a metal layer sandwiched by the different types of metal plates by using the clad technology.

(Note 2) Exchange at banking institutions

○These commemorative coins will be exchanged at banks or other financial institutions at face value
(100 yen). -
○The Ministry of Finance will announce detailed exchange information around October 2018.
- (Note 3) Part of the issued coins will be sold by the Japan Mint instead of being exchanged at financial institutions. The details of the sale will be announced later by the Japan Mint.
