Policy Research Institute (PRI) held its “Seminar on Economic Policies 2025” in Tokyo from September 19 to October 10, 2025. This annual seminar aims to support participating countries in developing their human resources by disseminating knowledge and experiences regarding Japanese public finance and economy to young executive candidates from finance ministries and other relevant institutions in countries of Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and the Caucasus region. During these three weeks, 22 participants from 14 countries deepened their understanding of the Japanese experience with fiscal and economic policies and cultures through lectures, group work discussions, and site visits.

Curriculum
Lectures on Japan’s economy, taxation and public finance were delivered by MOF and other relevant government institutions, scholars, and experts.

Lectures on Japanese language, culture and society were delivered by scholars and experts.

【General Lecture】
The participants formed several groups according to the topics they chose in the light of their respective national policy issues. Each group identified common issues within group members, discussed policy recommendations for their own countries under the guidance of their instructor and presented their group policy papers as the outcome.

The participants visited organizations and facilities relevant to the Ministry of Finance and other public institutions to understand the economy and the social environment in Japan.
