The PRI has been providing a technical cooperation project on SME finance for the SME Bank of Cambodia (hereinafter referred to as “SME Bank”), which is a policy bank of Cambodia, in cooperation with the Japan Finance Corporation, Micro Business and Individual Unit (hereinafter referred to as “JFC-Micro”).
As part of this technical cooperation project, we held a five-day seminar in Japan from May 20 to 24, 2024. During this period, ten participants from SME Bank attended lectures on credit analysis methods, risk management, human resource development and other topics, provided by JFC-Micro. They also visited the JFC’s branch and its related organizations.
On the first day of the seminar, the Director for the Government Financial Institutions Division, Ministry of Finance, Japan gave a lecture on Japan’s policy-based finance to seven SME Bank executives, led by H.E Dr. PHAN Phalla, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SME Bank of Cambodia.
The seminar was fruitful, as participants gained a deeper understanding of JFC-Micro's support for SMEs.
