PRI-CAFS Joint Seminar, Japan-China Think Tank Forum on Finance Policy (Tokyo)

The Policy Research Institute (PRI) has been conducting research exchanges with leading Chinese research institutes in economic and fiscal fields. In Tokyo, PRI and the Chinese Academy of Fiscal Sciences (CAFS) held a joint seminar, the 6th Japan-China Think Tank Forum on Finance Policy, on June 8. CAFS is an institute under the Ministry of Finance, China. The joint seminar has been held since 2016, and this time it was held in a face-to-face format for the first time in four years.

The speakers gave presentations on the subjects of “Fiscal Policy and Tax System Reform to Adjust to Social Changes” and “Policy Responses to Climate Change” under the forum’s theme of “Policy Responses towards a Sustainable Society.” Furthermore, commentators provided their opinions to these presentations in order to facilitate active discussions.
