It exempli-fies the true meaning of Seminar Fellowship, not only from an academic perspective but even more so from the hands-on learning ex-perience, provided with the skills and tools to raise me above the din. A lifetime of network-ing is consolidated in just a month. This in and of itself makes the Seminar priceless.The knowledge acquired, the skills learned, and the confidence inculcated has provided me with exciting prospects to give back to the Sri Lankan public sector and enhance my ca-reer. I have had the privilege of serving on sev-eral high-level committees and, especially be-ing the Secretary to the Presidential Task Force for Utilizing Geological Resources for Develop-ment, which is a rare opportunity for a public officer to have; thanks the competencies im-proved by the Seminar.The academic content is stimulating and in-teresting. The exposure to public, private, and government leaders at the national, prefecture, and community levels is outstanding. The in-terdisciplinary approach taken by the Seminar is a valuable model well suited to address the challenging economic issues in our countries, especially when it learns the history of Japa-nese economic development and listens to many storytellings. This approach helps us un-derstand common development pitfalls in our communities.I believe Seminar for Economic Policies is a great investment of the people of Japan grant-ed for the entire emerging world, and I strong-ly recommend all young public economists who want to contribute to their countries’eco-nomic development, who want to further en-lighten their fellow man, and who want to ex-perience personal growth, to apply to the Seminar. It can be the beginning of a wondrous journey. I congratulate the cheery 30th foun-dation anniversary of the International Corpo-ration Division in PRI.
