Negotiations for a Tax Information Exchange Agreement with the Republic of Panama will be initiated
[Provisional translation]
1. Following the outcome of the Japan-Panama Summit Meeting on April 20 for promptly beginning official consultations on a Tax Information Exchange Agreement including provisions of automatic exchange of information which is necessary for the exchange of financial account information based on the international standards formulated by the OECD, the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of Panama will initiate negotiations for the Agreement.
2. The first round of negotiations will take place on May 20, in Panama.
