
The Policy Research Institute (PRI) dispatched a delegation to Beijing and Shanghai, from January 20 to 24, 2013, in order to study recent economic affairs, as well as to have a meeting with a professor at Peking University Guanghua School of Management, who is the one of the most prominent economists in China.
In Beijing, the delegation also had a meeting with the Research Institute for Fiscal Science (RIFS), which is one of the PRI’s counterparts in China, to exchange opinions concerning income inequality and GDP growth rate.
In Shanghai, they visited leading research institutes and Japanese companies in China to exchange views with economic experts on various matters, including the prospects for a Free Trade Agreement between Japan, China and South Korea, social security problems, and liberalization of capital transactions.
