TheEstablishment of the new Mission of the Ministry of Finance and the policy goals

Onthe occasion of the establishment of the new Ministry of Finance, under theadministrative reform of central government implemented on January 6, 2001, thenew Mission of the Ministry of Finance and the policy goals for policyevaluation were established and published by the Ministry of Finance. Thesemission and policy goals had been established after consideration of the resultsof the public consultation period from November 30 to December 19, 2000, and thediscussions at several meetings of  "TheCouncil on the Policy Evaluation in the Ministry of Finance", formed by theAdministrative Vice-Minister on October 20, 2000, which consists of experts invarious fields. The policy goals which are related to macroeconomic issues, aresupposed to be revised some times in one fiscal year in consideration of socialand economic circumstances such as Policy Speeches by Prime Minister and FinanceMinister.

The new policy goals for FY 2002

Onthe 29th of March 2002, The Ministry formulated and published the "FY2002 Implementation Plan for Policy Evaluations", in which the policygoals were revised under present social and economic conditions.
